Dance Company of Wylie is owned and operated by two sisters who have been involved in the dance industry for more than 40 years combined.
Our mission is to develop strong, confident, and knowledgeable dancers in a diverse community that promotes individuality and teamwork while upholding a high standard of professionalism.
Our Facility
Dance Company of Wylie is approximately 4000 square feet with three spacious dance studios. Each studio has a specifically engineered floor.
Our two larger studios use a floating floor approach with Birch plywood and Styrofoam padding designed to reduce and or eliminate injuries to dancers. They are both finished with a professional Marley floor.
The third studio is used primarily for our smaller dancers and the floor is constructed with beautiful engineered light maple wood.
All studios are equipped with full length mirrors and traditional wall mounted and free standing ballet Barres. The spacious facility accommodates a locker room, three bathrooms, as well as a lounge and eating area for our company dancers. Every studio has hard wired cameras to allow younger siblings and parents to observe classes in comfortable lounge areas on flat screen TVs.

Performance Companies
Through our Perfomance Companies, we will provide those with the desire to study dance at a more intense level to learn not only dance technique, but also performance processes, choreography, dance history, dance criticism, and to learn dance as creative artists. Company members are motivated to learn who they are as artists, performers, and dancers, while connecting with fellow company members as a single, solid, educated, and artistic unit that will perform, create, and learn as a whole.
We seek to provide the tools for each student to acknowledge who they are as an individual dancer while also acquiring the skills to contribute to and work within a community of artistic and knowledgeable human beings.
We manage a Senior Company, a Junior Company, a Mini Company, and a Tiny Company. Dancers at the Junior and Senior levels will have the opportunity to function as teacher assistants.
Dance Company of Wylie Staff
Nikki Wintters
Director
Nikki Wintters experience is a blending of dance, upper level corporate management, dance education, and 18 years of motherhood. Nikki began dancing as a small child at her local dance studio in San Angelo, TX and continued to dance as part of the Shepton High School and Plano Senior High School (Plano, TX) drill teams. After highschool, Nikki pursued a successful career in sales and marketing which led her into leadership positions in which she managed regional teams. Through her ability to connect, empathize, and relate she was able to acquire large accounts for the company, reaching record breaking numbers.
While working in marketing, Nikki began her journey as a mother to 5 children ranging in ages from 6 to 18. As a mother, she has learned the importance of guided child development through positive experiences in the home and in extracurricular activities. Because of this, she returned to dancing in 2006 when she began teaching for the formerly managed Dance Company of Wylie to then take ownership in 2007. She found that through dancing, her daughters began developing a sense of confidence that is irreplaceable and unforgettable.
Nikkis dance education is primarily focused on the young child and their development prior to extensive and competitive training. Nikki has worked side by side with Dr. Annie Spell, child psychology specialist, and Beverly Spell (Leap N Learn, Milton, LA) to immerse herself in the inner workings of the young child focusing on their physical, emotional, and cognitive development. Since 2007, Nikki has led Dance Company of Wylie from a tiny 1-studio facility with 60 dancers and 4 teachers, to a bustling 3-studio facility with more than 350 students, 15 faculty members, and 5 successful performance/competition teams. Her goal is to continue sharing her love for dance to young ladies and gentlemen so that they will never forget the positive experiences they faced as children while providing a comprehensive and disciplined dance education that they can use in their adulthood, whatever they choose to become.
